Nothing makes us happier than a beaming bride and groom. We feed off our clients’ energy and Krystle + Ben fueled us all day with their happy glow. Krystle looked amazing in her Vera Wang and the family bond is very palpable. We cried (ehm, a little) during the emotional father/daughter dance and danced along with the amazing band. As always, it was great working with Carolyn Chen again and it was truly an all-star team of vendors. Congrats again Krys + Ben!

Arvin + Lisa rule! I had the honor of flying for 16 hours to shoot their wedding in paradise on earth, Bali. It was the first time I shot a wedding in wicking t-shirt because it was super hot and humid. Lisa looked stunning in her Carolina Herrera dress and Arvin cool in his Armani tux. They exchanged vows inside the beautiful Infinity Chapel at the Conrad. The reception happened under a grand white tent on the Ocean Garden and they used the Fuji Instax mini instant photos for wedding favors. It’s lovely to witness Lisa + Arvin’s celebration in one of the most beautiful places on earth, surrounded by their family including Lisa’s 5 handful, adorable nephews. :-)

Linda + Nelson are one of the most chill people I know so far. I had the pleasure of shooting their wedding with Vanessa in this fun-filled day which includes a Korean Opera Singer, a roast by the best man, a brand-spankin’ new IPad (which it honestly made me want to actually participate in their games :P) and just happiness. And yes, for the wedding dress enthusiasts, Linda is wearing the same style wedding dress featured in the movie The Hangover, my favorite movie ever! Carolyn Chen of The Special Day did a marvelous job designing and coordinating the event.

I had tons of fun shooting this wedding! Anne & Mike are very easygoing and trusted me to do what I do best, to create real images. Lots of awesome details including a badass Packard as the bride’s limo, seersucker suits for Mike and his and groomsmen, and the guests were transported via Santa Barbara Old Trolleys. Anne was very emotional throughout the day but really let loose at the reception and the band really brought the house down. I love my job! :) Special thanks to my second shooter Ari Simphoukham for coming along.

Thea + Earl are my new Canadian friends, that live in Dubai, and had their Old Hollywood-inspired wedding in the amazing Parker Palm Springs, CA. Some people have that natural kindness and the ability to make people around them feel warmth – they are one of them. They are fun, love-ing, in-love, love-ed, and all-around great, great people. Katherine & Julian flew me out to San Francisco to document their wedding at the City Hall of just the two of them. I’ve never shot a wedding this small before, so I was really excited! After getting ready at the charming Inn Above Tide, we went to the City Hall and wait for our number to be called for the ceremony. Afterwards, we went to a lot of places around Tiburon and Sausalito for some portraits before returning to the Inn for cake cutting in their suite. I’m so glad Kat & Julian found me and I’m very happy to be part of their wedding. I also really love that I got to sign my name as a witness!!!

I never met Sami + Michael prior to their wedding day but once we met, I felt like hanging out with a couple of old friends! They truly are happy souls and Sami’s mom told me that Sami was born at the wrong time and she should’ve been a hippie. Bonus points as they walked down the aisle along some Beatles’ tunes!

Sunny from White Lilac did a killer job with the design and decor, incorporating paper cranes hanging from the chuppah & Jonathan Adler pieces into the reception tablescape.
And the ladies from Details Details are on top of everything as usual. It was an awesome day!

There are some weddings that I can recall everything so crystal clear. Mostly because of the type of people, their relationship with me and the miscellaneous personal touches that they have in their weddings. This one is definitely one of those weddings. Great people, great families, friends, and lots of personalized things ranging from the peepee-face (I have the pictures but would not disclose the person :P), to a surprise Jai-Ho dance (from The Slumdog Millionaire). Kelli + Dave used to work in the film industry so this really means a lot to them.

The wedding became complete when the Oregon Ducks won the game that night (they are all HUGE ducks fans)

Finally, the wedding of Tak + Steven, mostly known as STAK Images – the “NOW” husband-and-wife Wedding Photographers from NY, which we proudly call friends :)

Tak + Steven’s wedding day started with a scare of huge continuous rain (as you can see from their e-session), however we are very grateful that it didn’t even rain at all. We completely lucked out – weather was dry, overcast the whole day. Their day started with the getting ready at the Millenium Hilton Hotel (which is located right next to the ground zero of the World Trade Center (see picture below). Emotions are high, portraits are amazing! We had TONS of fun covering their wedding! Here are “some” of our favorites:

I had fun in Las Vegas documenting Monika + David’s Jewish wedding at the Four Seasons. Monika was truly a stunning bride. Strangers at the elevator actually asked if she’s Miss Spain! The event went perfectly under the coordination of Laura Ward-Elbyr and the catering manager Dennis Silknitter. And thank goodness that no one fell into the pool after the raucous Hora by the poolside!

Camilla was from Sweden. David was from Ireland. They live & work in New York, and got married in Napa.

I was lucky enough to witness their very warm and intimate wedding at the gorgeous Carneros Inn in Napa Valley. With only 13 people present, I got the chance to know everyone and spent the day like I was part of the family.

Small wedding, sweet couple, amazingly chic details. My kind of wedding – despite the 115-degree weather.

Lizet + Edmund are my most adventurous couple by far. Their honeymoon plan includes climbing mount Kilimanjaro together. I could barely climb my stairs at home! Their wedding was very personal, 13 people total, at the always beautiful Parker Palm Springs. I love the thoughtful and chic details. I’m so blessed to have great people seeking for great photography – and Jenn + Thomas is no different. There is a certain level of connection and closeness that is evident in their relationship. I haven’t really met Mami + Shintaro previously, only through some phone conversatiions. Newport Beach, CA: Laura + Ross got married in a small and intimate civil ceremony in South Africa but decided to come back to Southern California to celebrate with their friends and families (We would’ve loved to shoot their wedding in South Africa too, to be honest :P). Laura is a friend from church way back when and it was fun to meet familiar faces again in a different setting. Palos Verdes, CA: This was a marriage of two speed racers! Santa Monica, CA: I love weddings with concepts! :) I had the privilege of shooting Michelle + Ian’s wedding and this time I had my good friend Ed Atrero come to help me out. Michelle was high the whole time (with happiness, that is :)) and Ian is always funny, just as I thought he was when I did their E-Session. There are so many different memories that I have about this wedding, starting with the transformation of the church music to a glorious gospel/baptist band, the “granny car” with 500 horsepower engine with aviation fuel, and just the overall positive vibe throughout the night. We definitely had fun! :) On to the teasers! Palm Springs, CA – Shooting at the Parker Palm Springs is always a delight for me. Combine it with the awesomeness that is Whitney + Alex, and I was on cloud nine! Whitney was absolutely gorgeous and Alex exuded Bond-like coolness. It was a great Jewish ceremony on the Croquet Lawn under a beautiful chuppah made of branches and orchids. Following the ceremony was a rockin’ reception which included a hora (my favorite!) and lots of dance floor actions. Santa Monica, CA: Rain was somewhat in our way during the wedding of Corinna + Sharath, but it didn’t stop anything – both are in high spirits and really cool about things. Corinna looked absolutely stunning in her Sari, and Sharath was perfect with his entourage. The ceremony was held at The Church of Our Saviour and reception at the Sheraton Delfina. I also had an awesome time working with Sonia Sharma again who is doing double task as the wedding coordinator and guest :) Congrats again Corinna + Sharath! Kapolei, Hawai’i – Words could not describe how amazing Miki & Joel are. After spending 3 days in paradise with them, I can say that with certain authority. We stayed in the North Shore and they embrace me and my friend/2nd shooter Vanessa like family. Joel is the animation producer of the Simpsons so I know we’d get along really well before even meeting him. :-) The night before the wedding, guests enjoyed some local delicacies like Kalua pork, Lau Lau, and guava pies at the get-together luau by the beach. The actual wedding and reception took place at the Lanikuhonua, where they had the heartfelt, emotional ceremony by the crashing waves. Everything went perfectly from the modern beach-themed decor down to the last warm Malasada at the end of the night because of the coordination of Sandra Williams from Finishing Touch. Miki + Joel, thanks again for the amazing time. I am honored to be part of your special weekend! Dress: Jin Wang Catering: Cater To Me Flowers: Yvonne Floral Get-together the night before. The wedding was done in their uncle’s private residence and despite the light sprinkles of rain off and on, the party was a blast and did not stop. Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – I was honored to be invited to shoot Jessica + Jerry’s intimate wedding in Puerto Vallarta. The great thing about most destination weddings is that everyone is extra relaxed and loose and this one’s no exception. Everyone welcomed me with open arms and treated me like part of the family. Margaritas the size of my head (so they’re extra huge!) were flowing at the rehearsal dinner at Pipi’s. The next day, everyone gathered at the amazingly spectacular “little house by the beach,” Casa China Blanca for the ceremony and reception. It was scorching hot and the humidity is at about 1000% but Jessica + Jerry were so full of joy they barely noticed it. At the end of the night, some of the guests jumped into the enticing infinity pool to cool off. Congratulations and thank you again for letting me be part of your celebration, guys! I had an amazing time and made a lot of new friends! Julie and the girls got beautified by our friend Sherry from On Location Beauty at her cousin’s rad house and Roozbeh and the boys played around with wet towels at the Portofino Yacht Club. Ever since we shot their e-session a few months ago, we couldn’t hardly wait shooting the wedding. Julie is shy and a die hard LA Kings fan. Roozbeh is a party animal and a die hard Lakers fan. But together, they are off the charts in the awesomeness meter. The uber-fabulous Sonia Sharma completely transformed the room at Los Verdes Golf Course into a wonderland. Garden Grove, CA: Jennifer is a huge Lakers fan (woohoo!), and Chris is heavily into cycling (Chris went on a 53-mile bicycling trip in the morning of their wedding!). They got married at the La Purisima Church and continuing the reception at the Crowne Plaza resort. Fueled by their passion in sports, the bridal party was introduced just like a basketball game opening introduction, and Chris went in with his mountain bike! Notice that the cake is purple & gold, after the Lakers colors. Congrats guys! Have a smashing honeymoon in Italy. Wish you could’ve taken us with you. :-) The rings on Chris’ bike :)

Son got very emotional at the very first sight of his bride-to-be at the altar. Palm Springs, CA – 05.10.08 Sara + Mani’s big day couldn’t have been more perfect! It all happened at the fabulous Parker Palm Springs, one of our most favoritest places in the world. :-) After a strap/no strap mini drama at the getting ready stage, the rest of the day went beautifully. Sara was gorgeous and Mani was in a great mood all day long. Following their Persian ceremony (officiated by Mani’s Dad), we were welcomed into the beautifully decorated Grand Ballroom. Sunny and her team from White Lilac really did a spectacular job. And as usual, the energy level on the dance floor was completely off-the-hook! Thanks for letting us be a part of your amazing day, guys! Monarch Beach, 04.26.08 – Kristina + Royce has been together for 15 years and finally tied the knot. The place is the awesome St. Regis Resort and the crowd was fun! Jeannie Savage and her crew from Details Details did such a great job planning and coordinating all the details throughout the day. Royce is a HUGE Michael Jordan fan and Kristina is heavily into scrapbooking. The whole wedding has tons of their personal touches, which made it really fun and interesting! Congrats again guys! Los Angeles, 04.19.08 – It was a small and intimate wedding which started at the W Hotel. The ceremony took place at the St Paul the Apostle church with a festive reception and plenty of great Italian cuisine at Tanino Ristorante in Westwood. Jenn + Mike were amazing. She’s full of laughter and looked absolutely radiant in her breathtaking Vera Wang. Mike cracked jokes all day long. It’s clear that they are very much into each other and it’s a privilege to share the day with them. Have a great time in Kauai! Goldie + Franco has been together for more than 10 years and it’s easy to see why they’re still going strong – these are two of the nicest people and so much fun to be around. Goldie was spunky and giddy the whole time and Farzin was as cool as can be making them such perfect couple! Held at the cool La Venta Inn at Palos Verdes, the environment was constantly fun, filled with laughter, and closeness. After the heartfelt ceremony, the party starts and never stops! Goldie + Franco, Thank you for making me a part of your very special day! Have fun on your honeymoon! :) Special thanks for the amazing Stephanie Williams for second-shooting for me :) There was a rule in the bride’s room that no visible crying is allowed :) Here’s Sheila, Goldie’s cousin overcomed by emotion after seeing her the first time that day in the dress. Sometimes, it’s true, crying is contageous :P Love Franco’s expression here :) Pre-grand entrance! Farzin’s Grandfather is actually over 100 years old!

3Fs. That’s what described Jenn & Eric’s wedding at the Wynn Las Vegas – Family, Friends, FOOD! We’ve been waiting for this wedding since we shot their engagement session! Jenn & Eric’s wedding vibe was relaxed and untraditional. They got ready together in a super-swank suite. Eric even helped with the dress. We then explored the beautiful hotel before the ceremony. Afterwards, the whole group enjoyed the rest of the evening at world-renowned chef Daniel Boulud brasserie savoring multiple courses of delicious food. Congrats again, Jenn & Eric. You two are truly awesome and we’re privileged to call you friends. Welcome dinner at Corsa the night before Day of – Double vision! A gown worthy to be displayed side by side with Picasso’s Manolos! Eric got a bit emotional during the ceremony

March 8, 2008: At one point prior to the ceremony, I asked Ana if she’s tired of smiling yet… her answer was: “I can’t stop – I’m too excited to be Mrs. Lee!”. Ana + Brent are so much into each other – whispering I love yous and joking around throughout the day (especially after the ceremony). They got ready at the cool Hotel Solamar, ceremony at the USD Founders Chapel then off to El Cortez for the reception. Everything went splendidly thanks to Lynn Schuster at Pure Planning. Surrounded by 250 of their closest families and friends, the whole day was filled with awesome moments. Congratulations, Ana + Brent! Enjoy Maui and talk to you soon! February 16, 2008 – Our first wedding of the year happened to be Jenn + Matt’s. After shaking of the rust in the first minute or two, we fell back into rhythm and didn’t miss a beat! The ceremony was in the beautiful Glendale United Methodist church followed by the reception at Westin Pasadena. Jenn + Matt are the two nicest people you’ll ever meet and we’re honored to be a part of their wedding. Have a great honeymoon in Maui and talk to you guys soon! Can’t you tell she’s giddy?
