Evelyn + Will came all the way from Singapore to have their engagement session! They’re so cute together! We walked around old town Claremont and the McKenna College to wait for the good light. The academic backdrop really suits them because they’re both assistant professor of Psychology in Singapore.

Arvin + Lisa rule! I had the honor of flying for 16 hours to shoot their wedding in paradise on earth, Bali. It was the first time I shot a wedding in wicking t-shirt because it was super hot and humid. Lisa looked stunning in her Carolina Herrera dress and Arvin cool in his Armani tux. They exchanged vows inside the beautiful Infinity Chapel at the Conrad. The reception happened under a grand white tent on the Ocean Garden and they used the Fuji Instax mini instant photos for wedding favors. It’s lovely to witness Lisa + Arvin’s celebration in one of the most beautiful places on earth, surrounded by their family including Lisa’s 5 handful, adorable nephews. :-)

I had tons of fun shooting this wedding! Anne & Mike are very easygoing and trusted me to do what I do best, to create real images. Lots of awesome details including a badass Packard as the bride’s limo, seersucker suits for Mike and his and groomsmen, and the guests were transported via Santa Barbara Old Trolleys. Anne was very emotional throughout the day but really let loose at the reception and the band really brought the house down. I love my job! :) Special thanks to my second shooter Ari Simphoukham for coming along.

Lisa + Arvin are really sweet together. We started in their favorite date spot, Ti Couz cafe in the Mission, then going up to Dolores park to stroll with their headstrong Pekingese, Bobbie. :) It’s apparent that they’re very comfortable in their own skin and it was just a fun session despite my fear of getting my car towed in the city. Can’t wait to hang out again in Bali soon!

I had the most incredible time in Hawai’i with Jean + Peter! They met in a hospital where they work and as they say, the rest is history. Jean looked absolutely gorgeous, Pete gave one of the best groom speeches of all time, and we partied like rockstars! And it was great to work with Sandra again from Finishing Touch. My talented friend Maurice came to second shoot for me.

Katherine & Julian flew me out to San Francisco to document their wedding at the City Hall of just the two of them. I’ve never shot a wedding this small before, so I was really excited! After getting ready at the charming Inn Above Tide, we went to the City Hall and wait for our number to be called for the ceremony. Afterwards, we went to a lot of places around Tiburon and Sausalito for some portraits before returning to the Inn for cake cutting in their suite. I’m so glad Kat & Julian found me and I’m very happy to be part of their wedding. I also really love that I got to sign my name as a witness!!!

I never met Sami + Michael prior to their wedding day but once we met, I felt like hanging out with a couple of old friends! They truly are happy souls and Sami’s mom told me that Sami was born at the wrong time and she should’ve been a hippie. Bonus points as they walked down the aisle along some Beatles’ tunes!

Sunny from White Lilac did a killer job with the design and decor, incorporating paper cranes hanging from the chuppah & Jonathan Adler pieces into the reception tablescape.
And the ladies from Details Details are on top of everything as usual. It was an awesome day!

I had fun in Las Vegas documenting Monika + David’s Jewish wedding at the Four Seasons. Monika was truly a stunning bride. Strangers at the elevator actually asked if she’s Miss Spain! And thank goodness that no one fell into the pool after the raucous Hora by the poolside!

Camilla was from Sweden. David was from Ireland. They live & work in New York, and got married in Napa.

I was lucky enough to witness their very warm and intimate wedding at the gorgeous Carneros Inn in Napa Valley. With only 13 people present, I got the chance to know everyone and spent the day like I was part of the family.

Small wedding, sweet couple, amazingly chic details. My kind of wedding – despite the 115-degree weather.

Lizet + Edmund are my most adventurous couple by far. Their honeymoon plan includes climbing mount Kilimanjaro together. I could barely climb my stairs at home! Their wedding was very personal, 13 people total, at the always beautiful Parker Palm Springs. I love the thoughtful and chic details. I love Edmund’s style, I love Lizet’s shoes, I love their dogs Cisco & Sandy, and I love how they look at each other with quiet smiles.

Santa Monica, CA: I love weddings with concepts! :) I had the privilege of shooting Michelle + Ian’s wedding and this time I had my good friend Ed Atrero come to help me out. Michelle was high the whole time (with happiness, that is :)) and Ian is always funny, just as I thought he was when I did their E-Session. There are so many different memories that I have about this wedding, starting with the transformation of the church music to a glorious gospel/baptist band, the “granny car” with 500 horsepower engine with aviation fuel, and just the overall positive vibe throughout the night. We definitely had fun! :) On to the teasers! Ceremony: Saint Monica Catholic Church Reception: The Victorian at Heritage Square Detail shot taken by Ed Michelle getting ready This is a cool shot of Ian putting on his tux by Ed. I still can’t put my fingers on it, but something is missing in the following picture (no one is harmed during the ceremony) :P The “downing” of the champagne toast after cutting the cake. Palm Springs, CA – Shooting at the Parker Palm Springs is always a delight for me. Combine it with the awesomeness that is Whitney + Alex, and I was on cloud nine! Whitney was absolutely gorgeous and Alex exuded Bond-like coolness. It was a great Jewish ceremony on the Croquet Lawn under a beautiful chuppah made of branches and orchids. Following the ceremony was a rockin’ reception which included a hora (my favorite!) and lots of dance floor actions. It was my pleasure working with two talented ladies: Cathy & Dorry from Celebrations of Joy who made sure the event went without a glitch. Congratulations Whitney + Alex! Kapolei, Hawai’i – Words could not describe how amazing Miki & Joel are. After spending 3 days in paradise with them, I can say that with certain authority. We stayed in the North Shore and they embrace me and my friend/2nd shooter Vanessa like family. Joel is the animation producer of the Simpsons so I know we’d get along really well before even meeting him. :-) The night before the wedding, guests enjoyed some local delicacies like Kalua pork, Lau Lau, and guava pies at the get-together luau by the beach. The actual wedding and reception took place at the Lanikuhonua, where they had the heartfelt, emotional ceremony by the crashing waves. Everything went perfectly from the modern beach-themed decor down to the last warm Malasada at the end of the night because of the coordination of Sandra Williams from Finishing Touch. Miki + Joel, thanks again for the amazing time. I am honored to be part of your special weekend! Dress: Jin Wang Catering: Cater To Me Flowers: Yvonne Floral Get-together the night before. Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – I was honored to be invited to shoot Jessica + Jerry’s intimate wedding in Puerto Vallarta. The great thing about most destination weddings is that everyone is extra relaxed and loose and this one’s no exception. Everyone welcomed me with open arms and treated me like part of the family. Margaritas the size of my head (so they’re extra huge!) were flowing at the rehearsal dinner at Pipi’s. The next day, everyone gathered at the amazingly spectacular “little house by the beach,” Casa China Blanca for the ceremony and reception. It was scorching hot and the humidity is at about 1000% but Jessica + Jerry were so full of joy they barely noticed it. At the end of the night, some of the guests jumped into the enticing infinity pool to cool off. Congratulations and thank you again for letting me be part of your celebration, guys! I had an amazing time and made a lot of new friends! Palos Verdes, CA – Theresa + Rick got married at the Trump National Golf Club on a cloudy afternoon. They’re game for anything to get the picture, even dragging her gorgeous Vera Wang gown through the bushes prior to the ceremony. The gorgeous wedding details reflect Theresa’s design sensibilities, like the glamorous headpieces, flowers & the custom gazebo under which they exchanged their vows. I can’t believe it’s already one year since fun-loving Mishelle + Robb got married at the Parker Palm Springs! We had access to the ultracool Rockstar Suites at the new Hard Rock Hotel in San Diego. This place is off the hook and really perfect for their personality. Always a pleasure spending time with them again. :-)My buddy Ed Atrero brought his toyz (ringflash!) and let me play with it.
