Always Krazy, Krazy Always. That is the motto between Bao Tran + Jason.
Bao is such a sweet lady, not to mention super gorgeous, while Jason is a really talented photographer who has been a good friend of mine for about 6 years or so. Simply said, they are made for each other. You can’t help feeling this way as soon as you are around these two awesome people. They met in 2009, but they got very close within the last year and it has been such a beautiful relationship between them. Bao mentioned to me that they both are in awe that they didn’t realize it sooner that they are so right for each other. The perfect timing is a mysterious thing, and sometimes when that moment comes, you just have to embrace it. And they did with open arms.
When I was in Singapore earlier this year, I got a phone call from Jason and he told me that he is getting married and he wanted me to shoot his wedding. Double excitement!!
The wedding started at the Fairmont in Newport Beach, and they got ready in the same suite. From there we headed to the beautiful 7 Degrees in Laguna. Ironically I have always wanted to shoot here since I started shooting, but after 7 years I finally got the chance to do it. The ceremony was truly heartfelt, and you can see their connection just by seeing how they look at each other. Our photographer friend, Ed Atrero, actually officiated the ceremony! Everything was perfect. After that the party started in the awesomely colorful reception room in the same location.
Bao Tran + Jason, krazy in love, always.
Very special thanks to my talented associate, Vanessa Preziose and my assistant Brent Matsuno for being such a great team.
I love this next frame by Vanessa. Totally captures the essence of how the day started. One of the groomsmen were partying for his birthday the night before, and at this point feeling the effects, Bao in the background joking around with the make up artist, and her sister putting some make up on Bao’s other bridesmaid, while everyone else was watching an episode of the Matrix.

The Cleopatra. Bao sure have some gorgeous eyes.
A quiet, personal moment between Bao, her sister, as her mom looks on. Shot by Vanessa.
Jason putting a boutonniere on his son with his mom in the background. The three of them are very, very close to each other in real life.
I love Bao’s expression during the processional. She didn’t even see me at all – her eyes were constantly on Jason.
And I love how Jason looks at Bao. I knew him for awhile and I have never seen him look at anybody this way before.
As soon as Jason placed the ring on Bao’s finger…

Father-Daughter, Mom-Son Dance.
Some of our friends fighting for a spot in the garter toss, which actually never happened :)
Some of the best wedding photographers in SoCal is in this frame!
Cooper, Jason’s son and Bao at the end of the night. Only yesterday I heard about what Cooper had said that night: “I want to stay with the two of you…” Such a sweet boy :)
