More wedding posts are coming, but let’s pause a bit for this couple I just shot in Portland. Have fun in Bali guys!

I’m so lucky to be part of this super fun and heartfelt wedding. So much beautiful emotion and connections. Congrats Yas + Jack!

Yas’ mom preparing her speech on the floor.

Jack exhaling. He was all nervous that day.

Yas taking care of their precious pup Wrigley.
The following three photos are a sequence of their very emotional first look without actually seeing each other. They held each other’s hand behind a wall and they prayed together. I cried too. Hard.

Beautiful St Timothy Catholic Church ceremony.

A first “alone” moment as husband and wife on the ride to the reception. One of my favorites.

It’s a first for me: Yas + Jack were introduced into their reception straight onto the dance floor to dancing guests. So much energy!

A special moment with grandma.

Let’s get the party started!

Aimee + Martin: Engagement Portraits 07/18/2012 | In Engagements, by Erwin

I spent the day with these two awesome couple, Aimee + Martin, shooting around Los Angeles. We started at The Bradbury building, then off to the Walt Disney Concert Hall. Although I have shot in both these locations, I told them that they should not expect the shots that they would normally see from other people shooting there. I can’t wait to shoot their wedding in November!
Here are some of my favorites:

Michelle + Rudy Modern Wedding 07/11/2012 | In Weddings, by Erwin

Michelle + Rudy has a special thing going on. Since the time they met in 1994 in Delano, CA, they have endured times apart, but yet still made everything happen. I have so much respect for people that could endure long distance relationships. Rudy joined the army and was stationed in Texas and Missouri while Michelle stayed in Los Angeles for college. Their 9-year relationship has been long distance and throughout that time they know that they will be spending their lives together. This year, they got married and finally made their dreams become reality.
Their wedding was held at the awesome The Andaz in West Hollywood, totally my kind of venue. I love everything modern, and this place is definitely rockin’. The getting ready is filled with smiles and laughter, the ceremony heartfelt, and the reception was intimate, followed by tons of fun.
The Andaz is such an amazing place that I can shoot portraits there forever. Literally. I’m so glad that they have the same taste as I do and forever grateful that they now become my friends! :)
Special thanks to Brandon Wong for second shooting for me, Brent Matsuno for assisting, and everyone else that made this wedding a reality for Michelle + Rudy.

Let’s start with the gorgeous shoes and dress!

I love this moment on their first look – Michelle was tearing up and Rudy is blowing air into her eyes to keep it under control :)

Amazing location, amazing stylish people, amazing portraits

These cute flower girls were twirling before the ceremony

Michelle tearing up during Rudy’s vow speech, which were both very touching and funny.

Love this moment after the ceremony, where they high-fived while Michelle’s bridesmaids were busy bustling up her dress.

The spitting image. Never turn a kid upside down and not expect something like this :)

The gorgeous rooftop location for the cocktail hour and the reception

As soon as I saw these, I knew the party is gonna be a REALLY good one! :)

Part one of the first dance: A high-energy, fun dance. Love Michelle’s expression in this shot.

First dance part two: slowing down the beat and going into the sexy side.

The cake shot, overlooking Hollywood.

Rudy’s best man rapping on the dance floor.
